    The chance to hit the game-winning shot is the dream of any kid playing basketball. For Cass' Tarris Batiste, that dream became a reality as his mid-range jumper with 4.5 seconds left lifted the Colonels to a 56-55 Region 7-AAAA win Tuesday night at home against Northwest Whitfield.

    The Adairsville Tigers' basketball team continues to get better, however, it came up just short again as it fell to Region 7B-AA power Chattooga, 67-65. The Tigers led 16-8 after the first quarter, but trailed 35-30 at halftime. The Indians extended its lead to nine points after three quarters only to see the Tigers fight back in the fourth.
  • Turnovers take Cass to victory

    The Cass Colonels caused turnovers and converted them to some easy buckets en route to breaking a halftime tie with a 19-10 third quarter to earn a hard-fought 62-49 high school basketball victory Monday night.
