Billie G. Cox

Billie G. Cox, 79, of Bartow Carver Road, Acworth, died Monday, June 8, 2009.
Mrs. Cox was born March 1, 1930, in Casey County, Ky., a daughter of the late Elbridge and Linnie Combs Gabehart.
She was of the Methodist faith and a homemaker. Mrs. Cox loved to travel, to play bingo and cards, enjoyed cooking and was known for her chocolate pie.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harold Cox, she is survived by her children, Ralph K. Cox of Conyers, Danny A. Cox of Hampton, Charles D. Cox of Cartersville, Lynn G. Gunter of Acworth, Lesley J. Cox and Lonnie D. Cox, both of Acworth; her grandchildren, Amanda Abercrombie, Laura Sheffler, Christopher Cox, Caleb Douglas Cox, Chase Gunter, Casey Lynn Gunter, Bailey Cox, Kailey Cox, Kyle Barker, and Matthew Barker; great-grandchildren, Raymond J. Sheffler Jr., Jean Claude Sheffler, Eva Barker and Grayden Barker; sisters, Nancy Hylma Minor of Mansville, Ky., and Norma Jean Jeffries of Campbellsville, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the First Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Nathan Sanders officiating. Entombment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Chris Cox and Caleb Cox, Chase Gunter, David Sheffler, Terry Gunter and Jerry Bragg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 till 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
