Two residents of White told police that jewelry and checks were stolen from their house, which was for sale, and they believe the items were stolen by prospective buyers.
Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the burglary report at around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Once on scene, the two men told deputies a number of items were stolen from the home, including a sapphire ring; a jade stone ring; a black onyx ring with three diamonds; a gold ring; a gold diamond ring; a gold chain with a cross pendant; and four checks, one of which was cashed for $550.
The two men suspected the items were stolen by people who came in to look at the house for sale. The prospective buyers came to see the house twice in the same day.
The two men were able to provide police with paperwork from the bank and a copy of the sales contract that the prospective buyers placed on the home.
No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
