A Development of Regional Impact (DRI) form has been submitted to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs by the city of Cartersville for a 60-acre industrial site at 118 Old Mill Road.

The DRI form for the project, which is referred to as Old Mill Industrial and slated to create 1 million square feet of industrial space, was submitted Aug. 20. The developer listed on the form is TPA Group of Atlanta. According to its website, TPA Group has developed such projects as the Verizon Center for Excellence — a $30 million project in Lake Mary, Florida — and large-scale developments in north Atlanta that helped lead to the creation of the city of Johns Creek.

The DCA website states that DRI forms must be filed by local governments if a project that will have regional effects beyond local jurisdiction is being planned.

City of Cartersville Planning and Development Director Randy Mannino said more details about Old Mill Industrial’s DRI status will likely be available in the coming weeks. The form indicates that the project is scheduled to be completed in August 2018.
