Over $6,000 in batteries stolen from school buses

An unknown suspect reportedly stole over $6,000 worth of batteries from 12 school buses owned by and kept on the property of Elite 4x4 Off Road Parts at 1189 Joe Frank Harris Parkway.

According to a report from the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, the complainant reported that the batteries were discovered to be missing on Monday, and the alleged theft would have had to occur within the last 10 days from Thursday. Whomever took the batteries reportedly removed only the batteries and left the terminals behind.

Each school bus carries three 12-volt deep cycle car batteries which cost $175 to replace.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
