Man charged with stalking after allegedly running wife off road

A Euharlee man was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly running his wife off the road.

The victim told a dispatcher that her husband, Kevin Vann Lacey, 30, of 615 Amberwood Place, was following her on Highway 293 in Kingston and had hit her Nissan Frontier and run her off the roadway.

When a Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputy was able to question Lacey, the suspect said his wife had filed for divorce, and he suspected she was cheating on him, based on something he found on her phone during the past few days.

He also said she left while he was in the shower, and he followed her to find out where she was going.

He denied ever striking her vehicle or blocking the road, but he did say he had to turn around a few times in the road to keep following her.

The deputy checked the woman’s vehicle as well as Lacey’s GMC Sierra 2500 and found no obvious signs of a collision on either one. The suspect’s truck did have some previous damage on the driver’s side.

Lacey was arrested and charged with stalking under the Family Violence Act.
