Two men entered guilty pleas in separate cases this week in Bartow County Superior Court.
David Allen Vick on Monday entered guilty pleas to four counts of child molestation occurring between Jan. 1, 2009, and May 31, 2014. One count of rape and one count of aggravated child molestation were dismissed by nolle prosequi, or no prosecution.
Superior Court Judge Scott Smith sentenced Vick to 50 Years, to serve 20 incarcerated and the remainder to serve on probation, with a number of special conditions of probation required of Vick, including registering and complying with sex offender conditions.
On Tuesday, Jesse Daniel Johnson pleaded guilty to the Nov. 1, 2014, death of Keypher Logan Kelly while the two were cleaning weapons. He pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter, first offender. A reckless conduct charge was merged into count one.
Superior Court Judge Suzanne H. Smith sentenced Johnson to 10 years under the First Offender Act O.C.G.A 42-8-60, to serve 12 Months incarcerated and the remainder to serve on probation, with a number of special conditions of probation required of Johnson, which include payment of $1,197.59 in restitution to Kelly’s family and no possession of firearms.
