Posey, Shaw square off for Kingston council seat

Two candidates — incumbent Harold Posey and challenger Vivian Shaw — are running for the Post 2 seat on the Kingston City Council. Kingston voters will make their decision on Nov. 3. Vivian Shaw did not return her questionnaire.

Why did you decide to run for a seat on the Kingston City Council?
A: To offer my experience and judgement on issues to the greatest benefit for Kingston citizens.

If elected what do you hope to accomplish?
A: A balanced budget and upgrade our aging water infrastructure.

What is the most pressing issue facing Kingston?
A: Financial stability.

Once in office, what will be your top priority?
A: Improvement in delivery of city services.

Why are you the best candidate for this position?
A: I have a historical perspective of our water system, an understanding of city operations, and the ability to cast an informed vote that would be in the best interest of our citizens.
