On Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 8:45 p.m., a Cartersville police officer was dispatched to 136 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for a threats report incident.
The victims were at the scene and stated that on that same night at 8:30 p.m., they were involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown black male at the nearby Chevron gas station, located at 423 N. Tennessee St.
The victims stated that the suspect had pulled a pistol on them, pointed it at the victims and verbally threatened to kill them.
The first victim stated the suspect had been riding by their house for the last two weeks shouting from his vehicle. The suspect was also seen on foot challenging the victim to a fight.
The second victim stated, “The suspect approached me while at the Chevron when he noticed my car.”
Trying to avoid a confrontation, she called the first victim, who then walked to 423 N. Tennessee St., and a verbal altercation ensued. The suspect then presented his weapon and threatened to shoot both victims.
The two victims then left the store and returned to 136 MLK Jr. Drive, where they called the police and stated that they were afraid for their lives.
They then stated there could possibly be a gunfight later on.
