‘The Crucible’ opens Friday at The Legion Theatre

As Halloween nears, the 1690s Salem Witch Trials will take center stage as The Pumphouse Players’ perform “The Crucible.” Opening Friday at 8 p.m., the play will be presented at The Legion Theatre, 114 W. Main St.

Christian League for Battered Women celebrates 30-year milestone

Providing a lifeline to victims of domestic violence since 1985, Christian League for Battered Women will mark its 30th anniversary Oct. 24. Open to the public, the celebration will be held at Hilton Garden Inn — 24 Liberty Drive in Cartersville — from 6 to 10 p.m.

Noble Hill presents Unsung Heroes Banquet Oct. 3

Revamped Duck Derby slated for Oct. 3

With the Duck Derby around the corner, Advocates for Children’s staff is looking forward to unveiling the revamped event to the Bartow community. Featuring a new time and location in its 14th offering, the benefit is moving from May to October and shifting its location from the Riverside Day Use Area to LakePoint Sporting Community’s Terminus Wake Park.

Service League’s Rummage Sale gets underway Thursday

Starting on Thursday, the benefit will feature a wide range of items for sale, including clothing, baby items, household accessories, children’s toys, linens and furniture.

Cherokee Judicial Circuit presents Remembrance Ceremony Friday

In its fifth offering, the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims commemoration will pay tribute to the memories of more than 100 individuals. To be held at the Hilton Garden Inn — 24 Liberty Drive in Cartersville — on Friday, the event will be presented by the Cherokee Judicial Circuit’s Victim Services Unit of the District Attorney’s Office.
