Flags fluttered in the cold winds of early March. Small white particles would periodically fall from the sky. Fans who were wrapped in heavy jackets and blankets were most grateful for the hot chocolate that was being sold at the concession stand.

Such was the winter-like atmosphere on a Saturday in which three baseball games were played and a heartful, emotional tribute was paid to the men and women who serve and who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

“We just wanted to show our appreciation to those who are in the military,” said Woodland coach Corey Gochee at the conclusion of Military Appreciation Day.
