On Tuesday, May 13, 2014, God called home an angel. We knew him as Jonathan Tubman. Jonathan was a caring man and a loving father, as well as a hardworking person that loved his family more than life itself. By “family” I mean related as well as extended because Jonathan’s love reached far beyond bloodlines. So for fear of leaving someone out, only his wife, child, parents, and siblings will be referred to by name.

As Jonathan left here to be with the Lord, he leaves behind a loving wife, Caycee Tubman; a beautiful baby girl, Dileona Tubman; parents, Preston and Shirley Tubman; siblings, Laura Armstrong, Rhonda Jenkins and Robert Tubman, whom he genuinely loved and admired. Common amongst them all was the love for fishing. Some believe that Jonathan was born with a rod and reel in his hands. There was no where he would rather be than at the lake with family and friends. Jonathan had a passion for music stronger than many knew. Any and every spare moment was spent writing or recording his music, which is a blessing in and of itself because now we have his music that will be listened to often and with love.

A Celebration of the life of Jonathan Tubman will be held Saturday, May 24, at the New Cannan Baptist Church, 1883 Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Cartersville, GA 30120 at 4 p.m.

Parnick Jennings Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave., Rome, is serving the family of Jonathan Tubman.
