Lady Tigers' Taylor Weeks soon to become Lady Bear

Robert Staggs, associate athletic director and head softball coach at the University of Pikeville (Ky.), was in need of a middle infielder next season.

Taylor Weeks, who just happens to play shortstop for the Adairsville Lady Tigers, was looking to continue playing softball at the collegiate level. And, to play at a college whose surroundings resembles that of her current home town.

“Taylor and I had a good conversation regarding what we both wanted next season,” said Coach Staggs, who made the six-hour drive to attend the signing ceremony held early Tuesday morning at the high school. “I also like all the information regarding Taylor that was sent to me.”
