Mrs. Martha Ray Rhodes Taylor, 94, of Taylorsville passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012.

Mrs. Taylor was born on June 4, 1918, in Bartow County, daughter of the late W. Ray Rhodes and the late Ethel Shaw Rhodes. She attended Bessie Tift College in Forsyth. Mrs. Taylor was a former assistant postmaster of the Taylorsville Post Office and was co-owner of Rhodes Grocery Store. She was a member of the Taylorsville Baptist Church, where she was the musician all her adult life.

Survivors include five nephews and nieces-in-law, Ronnie and Janice Rhodes, Dennis and Karen Rhodes and Cary and Rhonda Rhodes, all of Taylorsville; Don and Susan Rhodes of Birmingham, Ala., and Ken and Marlene Rhodes of LaGrange.

Funeral graveside and interment services for Mrs. Taylor will be held on Friday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. in the family lot of the Taylorsville Cemetery with Rev. Douglas Harris officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m., at which time the funeral procession will leave for the graveside service.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Ronnie Rhodes, Dennis Rhodes, Don Rhodes, Ken Rhodes, Dr. Brad Ward and Franklin Cousins.
