Investigators learned of a possible suspect Thursday after numerous tips poured into the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office about the photos released of the suspected stalker, according to a release. As investigators were in the field following up on these tips, Lloyd Bruce King, 54, of Chatsworth, turned himself in at the jail.
King was positively identified as the offender in the incident and was charged with stalking and criminal trespass. No further charges are expected at this time. He is currently being held on a $4,000 bond.
King, who lives in Chatsworth but works in Bartow County, allegedly followed the victim, 65, in the Walmart parking lot, parking directly in front of the victim about 2 p.m., according to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office incident report. Video surveillance showed King exit his car and tamper with the tire on the victim’s vehicle before entering the store.
Authorities say King followed the female into the store and then returned to his car to await her return.
The woman told deputies King stopped her as she backed out of her parking spot, saying she had a flat tire. Although King was “very intimidating,” the report stated, the victim exited her vehicle and confirmed the tire was flat.
According to the report, King offered to change the tire using the victim’s spare. When the woman attempted to remove the tire, he made lewd comments, embarrassing the woman to the point she had King remove the spare.
Once the tire was changed, King again began making inappropriate comments about the female. According to the report, the woman attempted to leave, with King approaching her window to either try to offer his number or get hers.
The victim said she became concerned after a local tire shop told her the tire went flat because the valve stem was removed.
