“For Monday we will have one recommendation, to recommend the 2014 tuition rate of $200 per family for existing students, if paid by June 30,” Finance Committee Chairman Kelley Dial said. “After June 30, the rate is $300 per child and for all new students the rate is $300.”
If a Bartow County family currently has a child in the system and a sibling wishes to attend the city system, the rate will stay at $200 per family.
In other school news, the board will vote on Monday to approve its proposed student calendar for the upcoming school year, as well as for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school years. The calendars coincide with the Bartow County Board of Education’s proposed calendar for the upcoming school year.
The board also will vote to amend the January 2013 consent agenda for the regular monthly meeting schedule to exempt the months of April, July, October and possibly December as not having work sessions scheduled.
Normally, the board will meet the second Monday of each month with the work session being the Thursday preceding the regular business session.
The board will vote to adopt a Freeport resolution increasing the Freeport ad valorem exemption from 40 percent to 60 percent beginning Jan. 1, 2014, as suggested by the City of Cartersville.
The board also will vote to approve the bid from Lockstep Technology Group, of Duluth, for a wired network core, MDF and IDF switch upgrade and configuration in the amount of $195,983. The company provided the lowest bid.
