Starting tonight, Woodland will be facing the Paulding County Patriots, who are 1-6 overall 1-6 in the region; followed by the winless Lithia Springs Lions and the 3-2 Hiram Hornets.
The Patriots lone win of the season came against Lithia Springs two weeks ago. In their 50-35 loss to Villa Rica last week, the Wildcats (1-5, 1-5) scored more points in that game than Paulding County has scored since its 23-20 opening season loss to the New Manchester Jaguars.
For Woodland, it has been nearly a month since it celebrated its only win of the season.
“While we do not have the record we would like at this point in the season,” Woodland coach Vince DiLorenzo said, “our team is beginning to realize that we have been our own worst enemy. We have a chance to be competitive in every game we play, if we can only stop making the same mistakes over and over again.”
A glimmer of hope that Woodland can indeed win its next three games manifested itself in its loss to Villa Rica.
