According to Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap and Cartersville Police Department Chief Tommy Culpepper, officers arrested 17 people on outstanding warrants that ranged from the various drug charges, aggravated assault, weapons charges to probation violation. In all, over 40 warrants were served.
Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force Deputy Commander Lt. J. L. Cheek said that the majority of the warrants served were the result of a probation search, which resulted in seven people being arrested on various drug(s), weapon(s), theft and probation charges. Cheek advised that a stolen vehicle and two stolen weapons were recovered, including an AK-47.
Culpepper and Millsap said the operation was a success and expect more arrests in the near future.
