The officer, one of Adairsville’s K-9 units, pursued the motorcycle until it crashed just off U.S. Highway 41 in Gordon County. The offender, later identified as Douglas Ricky Williams, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by the officer’s K-9 partner.
Williams, who also had weapons and an amount of methamphetamine on him, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, attempting to elude police, possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects, possession of stolen property, possession of weapons during commission of a crime and other traffic offenses.
