After poring over resumes from 36 candidates, the Adairsville City Council settled on three finalists for the city manager position.

“Of the 36 applicants, 11 were former or current city or county managers, and another 15 had significant experience in city or county government,” interim Adairsville City Manager Billy Beckett said.

The three finalists are Scott Wood, former city manager of Canton and Milledgeville; Darrell Hampton, former Jackson County manager, former city manager of Morrow and former assistant city manager of Americus; and Pamela Madison, who served as deputy county administrator, assistant county administrator and interim county manager in Broward County, Fla.

Beckett said the finalists will be invited back for second interviews on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Adairsville railroad depot.

The finalist selected will replace former city manager Pat Crook who resigned in November to become the city manager in Villa Rica.
