Adairsville police arrest man for trafficking meth

Adairsville Police Department on Tuesday arrested a Rex man on charges of trafficking meth.

According to Chief Charles Stafford, the arrest of Michael Legall, 54, came after an undercover narcotics investigation. The sting culminated with an undercover officer arranging for the delivery of one once of meth at a convenience store.

In addition to the meth, officers seized more than $3,000 cash. Legall is being held at the Bartow County Jail without bond and is charged with trafficking meth.

Men charged in connection with burglary of a vacant home

An arrest has been made in connection with a Taylorsville burglary, Sheriff Clark Millsap said Wednesday.

Cassidy Cam Cowart, 21, of 131 Miller Farm Road, Taylorsville, and Robert Leeneal Deford, 31, of 665 Euharlee Five Forks Road, Kingston, were charged with burglary.

Investigators allege that on March 10 a neighbor observed a car drive by his residence several times. He said two men were seen running from a vacant residence carrying boxes of copper tubing before fleeing.

An hour later deputies stopped a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's car. Both subjects were arrested on unrelated charges at that time and transported to the Bartow County Jail. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered some of the items taken from the burglary and tools possibly used in the burglary in the vehicle.

Cowart was charged with one count of party to the crime of burglary and one count of possession of tools for the commission of a crime. He is being held at the Bartow County Jail on $11,500 bond. Deford is charged with one count of theft by receiving stolen property and is being held in the Gordon County Jail on unrelated charges.
