“Nobody was within 30 yards of her,” said Adairsville assistant coach Lance Hall. “It was just the two of them.”
As it turned out, Fergerson won the duel of the night, and that later proved to be the turning point in the Adairsville Lady Tigers’ 4-1 road victory on Thursday night.
“It was one of the best saves I have ever seen in my 15 years of coaching soccer,” Hall said.
Fergerson’s save came at the 38-minute mark of the first half with the score tied at 1-1.
Adairville took a 1-0 lead on Emily Sexauer’s opening goal at the 16-minute mark, before Coahulla Creek tied it at 1-1 nine minutes later.
