Apartment fire sends one to hospital

An apartment fire on North Erwin Street at 3:45 a.m. Monday morning alerted Cartersville Fire Department personnel to respond to the location.

According to a CFD spokesperson, the fire was contained to the single unit and nearby units only suffered slight smoke damage.

The cause remains under investigation and the occupant was transported to Cartersville Medical Center with burns to his feet. No other injuries were reported.

Adairsville police report arrests from holiday patrol

Adairsville Police Chief Robert Jones said the department has conducted concentrated criminal patrols to make the holidays safe for its citizens and visitors.

According to a news release, Adairsville officers arrested six people last week for various offenses, from driving violations to drug charges.

Jones said the concentrated patrol would continue into the new year.
