Agents with the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, Dunwoody Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on Wednesday arrested five individuals for various drug and gun charges.

DTF Commander Capt. Mark Mayton said task force agents, along with BCSO and GSP, assisted the U.S. Marshals and Dunwoody investigators in locating a subject wanted in connection with a Sunday shooting.

According to a DPD press release, a man was shot inside his apartment at The Terraces at Dunwoody about 1:30 p.m. Sunday. He was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center in stable condition. According to a second DPD press release, the suspects were inside the apartment when a physical altercation started and weapons were allegedly drawn. The victim was shot by a suspect, but still returned fire and wounded a suspect, Sabor Crosby, in the forehead. Dunwoody police, according to the release, determined it was an isolated incident and not a random act of violence.

Crosby was arrested by Dunwoody police.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Red Roof Inn off State Route 20 Spur in Cartersville. Officers located about 11 pounds of marijuana, more than 3 ounces of cocaine, two firearms — one of which was reported stolen — and $2,402 in cash.

“As I have stressed before, incidents such as this highlight the importance of interagency cooperation,” Mayton said. “We were able to take dangerous persons off the streets using adept policing and teamwork.”

Agents are still following information gathered during this investigation and expect more arrests in the near future.
