The Bartow County Sheriff's Office's deputies and investigators continue to look into the death of 49-year-old Juanita Thompson whose death is considered not to be a random act.

She was believed to be killed sometime after 7 p.m. Monday, according to BCSO officials.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact the sheriff's office or Cartersville-Bartow County CrimeStoppers at 770-606-TIPS (8477).

According to residents in the area, a man shot Thompson at 31 Weems Spur Road, the home of her boyfriend. Residents said the man, who they say is in custody, had threatened to kill the woman prior to Monday's incident.

Sheriff Clark Millsap said authorities were on the scene until about 5:30 Tuesday morning.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
