According to reports from Bartow County Dispatch, an armed robbery occurred at The Banana Boat located at 59 Maple Ridge Drive off of Felton Road. Around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, dispatch released a look out for a red Mazda truck with a long bed and black toolbox. No tag number was provided by the caller.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a black baseball cap and black jacket, carrying a black bag with a red logo, with a beard, big build and bushy hair, and in his 30s. He was possibly carrying a .22 or .380 caliber gun, which was brandished at the store clerk. The suspect allegedly stole two cell phones and money from the store and left in the store manager's vehicle.

Cartersville police, as well as Bartow County deputies, responded to the call and K-9 units were attempted to be contacted as well. Around 6 p.m. units arrived at the Collins Point Apartments, where they believed the suspect could have been located.

After leaving the victim's vehicle behind, the suspect entered a dark in color sedan, possibly a four-door model. Officers were still searching for the suspect as of press time. The Mazda truck has been taken to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office for processing and investigation.

Further information will be provided when available.
