Bartow teams fall at Classic

Bartow County's two host teams both fell in the first round of the First Pitch Classic, which kicked off Thursday, but they will soon get their chance to rebound.

In Adairsville, the Tigers lost a close contest that featured a lot of scoring but was won by South Paulding, 9-7.

North Hall took a 13-3 victory over Woodland in their game at Wildcat Stadium.

Other results included Marietta 8, South Paulding 0 in a game played at Adairsville; North Hall defeated South Paulding, 10-3, at Woodland and Pickens County doubled up on Rome, 6-3, in a contest played at Cass High.

Also, at East Paulding, East Paulding JV defeated South Paulding Vegas 16-13 and East Paulding beat Model, 4-0.

Games today include:

Cass plays North Hall at 2:30 p.m. and Pickens County at 7:30 p.m. at their stadium. A third game starts at 5 p.m. and features North Hall JV and South Paulding Vegas.

Woodland will play Model at 5 p.m. and then take on South Paulding at 7:30 p.m. at their field.

Adairsville does not play today but at 7:30 p.m. hosts East Paulding JV vs. Marietta.

Games on Saturday include:

In Adairsville, the Tigers play Marietta at 2:30 p.m. and Rome at 7:30 p.m. Additionally, SP Vegas plays Marietta at 11:30 a.m.

At Woodland, Pickens plays Woodland at 7:30 p.m. Other games in Wildcat stadium are East Paulding vs. South Paulding at 2:30 p.m. and South Paulding Cardinal vs. South Paulding Vegas at 5 p.m.

At Cass, the Colonels take on South Paulding at 5 p.m. The other game at the site features South Paulding and Rome at 2:30 p.m.
