This was the scene shortly after 8-year-old Garrett Black was struck and killed by a school bus at the Cartersville school bus barn Monday afternoon.

According to Cartersville Police Department Capt. J.F. Cline, the child was dropped off at the bus facility where his mother works and was struck by another bus driver who didn't see him.
"From what I understand he was dead at the scene," Cline said.
The accident happened around 4 p.m. at 150 Milner Road, which is private property. Cline said it's too early to tell if criminal charges will be filed.
Both the mother and the driver of the bus that struck Garrett were so distraught they had to be hospitalized, Cline said.
