Flashing a quick-strike offense, the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes flexed the kind of big-play ability Woodland had hoped to see from its own offense. The Purple Hurricanes tallied four touchdowns against the visiting Wildcats, with three of those scores coming for 35 yards or more — including two 50-plus yard bombs from quarterback Brooks Barden.
Cartersville wound up scoring 22 unanswered points Friday to claim a 29-7 victory in the two teams’ annual football scrimmage.
