Carlton Wesley Taylor, 76, of Rockridge Court, Cartersville, passed away Sunday evening, June 26, 2011, at his residence.

Mr. Taylor was born July 9, 1934 in Henderson, Tenn., son of the late Walter Carlton Taylor and Nora Edith Greener Taylor. He graduated from Tyner High School in Chattanooga, Tenn., and was retired from Heritage Oil Company. He loved his family, fishing, animals and gardening. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law; Frankie McDonnold.

Survivors include his wife; Robbie McDonnold Taylor, whom he loved for 37 years; his children; Ann Taylor, Carla and John Doub, Jimmy & Deonne Taylor and Shelia Wilkey; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; a special friend; Hal McEver; father-in-law; James McDonnold also survives.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning, June 29, at 11 a.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Etowah Valley Humane Society or to the American Cancer Society.
