Anheuser-Busch and its charitable foundation have supported United Way of Bartow County for several decades. That support continues this year with contributions from the brewer totaling more than $81,000.

On March 31, the local chapter received a $54,917 check from the Anheuser-Busch Foundation. Along with employee donations of $26,479 that were collected last year, local contributions from the brewer in the last year total $81,396.

The donations will be used to support a number of local health and human service programs through 15 nonprofit agencies. Brenda Morehouse accepted the donation on behalf of the United Way from Rob Haas, general manager of the brewery, and Janet Hogg, a United Way board member and Anheuser-Busch employee who co-chaired the United Way employee campaign at the brewery. Haas and Hogg presented the contribution on behalf of the Cartersville brewery's employees and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation.

"Thanks to all our employees who came together to support such a worthy organization," Haas said. "They know that their donations and those from our company's foundation will go to help our neighbors in Bartow County."
