Cartersville boys, Bartow teams advance in GRPA b-ball tourney

Cartersville had four of its players reach double figures as it toppled Cobb County, 58-52, Saturday in the Georgia Recreation and Park Association District 5 Midget Basketball Tournament hosted by the Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department at JH Morgan Gym.

Ashton Nettles scored a team-high 17 points for the Cartersville boys while teammates Gabrial Gridley, Grant Harris and Jogarious Erwin added 15, 11 and 10 points, respectively. Other scorers included Alec Hamm (2) and Kaleb Peeks (1).

The Cartersville all-stars play Dalton at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Bartow County boys also advanced to the next round, due to a forfeit.
