The Cartersville and Bartow County fire departments will be having their yearly Give Burns the Boot drive Thursday through Saturday. They will be taking donations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Locations will include: the intersection of Church and North Erwin streets, Ingles at 825 West Ave., and Walmart at 101 Market Place Blvd.

Firefighters will be taking donations for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation, which was founded in 1982 by a group of DeKalb County firefighters. Over the last 28 years, the foundation has grown to incorporate the entire state and expanded its work to include all Georgians. In 1990, the Give Burns The Boot campaign was started to support the foundation’s efforts, and since that time firefighters have continued their support by collecting more than $11 million.
