The result was a 7-5 high school baseball victory for the home standing Colonels, who improved their record to 2-1.
The Colonels scored a run in the bottom of the first, two in the third, one in the fourth and three in the fifth.
North Paulding did its damage in the sixth inning, when it scored four runs, and seventh, when it closed out the scoring with a single run.
Taylor Bentley scored three runs for Cass, going 4-of-4, with 2 RBIs; including a double and a triple; Sam Ayers scored two runs; and Dalton Weightman scored two runs.
Tyler Gates got the win for the Colonels, pitching five innings, giving up no earned runs, with nine strikeouts and allowing two hits. Blake Kirk pitched one inning, giving up four runs on four hits with one strikeout. Dalton Parham went one inning, giving up one run and striking out one.
Matt Wheeler took the loss for North Paulding.
Cass returns to the diamond Tuesday, when it hosts Adairsville.
