Cass played its first full tennis match at the school and, as icing on the cake, won its boys and girls matches against Northwest Whitfield, both by 4-1 scores.

"It was a nice way to kind of break in our new tennis courts," head coach Chris Allen said. "We been practicing on them for some time and we'd been looking forward to getting in a full match."

Boys winners were Jake Barnett, 6-1, 6-4; Joey Johnson 6-1, 6-3; Matt Moore and Brad Delee, 6-4, 6-2; Daniel Smith and Kaleb McBrayer, 6-7, 6-3, 6-0.

The boys team improved to 7-5 and 1-2 in Region 7A-AAAA.

The girls team moved to 6-7 and 1-2 in its region.
