Funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Stilesboro. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Eppinger's Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Ward was born Jan. 25, 1948, in Gordon County to the late James and Azzie Jeanette (McClure) Ward.
He was educated in the Gordon County School System. He met and married Levon Cooley Ward, July 1968. To this union four children were born.
Cecil retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 25 years of service.
Mr. Ward is survived by a devoted wife of 42 years, Levon Ward; children, Andre Ward (Tiffany), Monica Ward Gober (Derek), Cedric Ward (Katasha), Brett Ward, Yolonda Palmore and Jason Vanzant; seven sisters, Annie George Simpson, Evelyn Kincaid (Clarence), Mary Foster (Terry), Dorothy Goode (Donald), Anita Livsey, Charlotte Darby (Larry) and Amanda Ward; one brother, Calvin Ward; aunts and uncles; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
