He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Anna Brooks; daughter Kimberly Dawn Brooks; granddaughters Hollye Pilgrim and Erin Turnipseed; and two brothers.
Survivors include sisters Joyce Murfree and Brenda Sue Gordon; daughter Denise Brooks Howard and husband Jack; daughter Kellye James, daughter Pam Hopson; stepson Derek Williams; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlie was an active member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Calhoun.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Kennesaw. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Calhoun.
