Charles Herman "Pops" Brock, 86, of Taff Road, Taylorsville, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2011.

Mr. Brock was born Feb. 19, 1925, in Bartow County, the son of the late, Thomas Asbury and Edith (Cantrell) Brock, was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member or 73 years at Raccoon Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha Jane (Scott) Brock; son, Jack Brock; grandson, William Charles Sanford; great-grandson, Garrett Black; five brothers, Ernest Brock, Thomas Brock, Clyde Brock, Grady Brock and Jimmy Brock; and six sisters, Annie Tatum, Lula Siniard, Pauline Dempsey, Irene Dawson, Judy Womack and Faye Matherson.

Surviving are his children, Randy and Judy Brock of Cartersville, Donna and Mitchell White of Taylorsville, Debra and Gary Sanford of Cartersville, Susan and Danny West of Taylorsville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Morris of Taylorsville, Cathy Strickland of Aragon; brothers, Timmy Brock of Cartersville, Ricky Brock of Virginia; special niece, Susiann Brock of Taylorsville; special friend, Kristyn Byrd; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at Raccoon Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Boatfield and Rev. James Black officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening.

Pallbearers will be Bobby White, Allen Brock, Steven Smith, Eric Black, Keith Griffin and Louie Brock.

Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Smith, Hunter Fields, Sonny Brock, Mike Siniard, Franklin Morris, Eddie Stokes and Lamar Tilley.
