Potts Construction and Graham Commercial Contracting will host the event held Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cartersville Civic Center, 435 W. Main St.
Interested subcontractors and suppliers are urged to drop by during the fair for information pertaining to the construction process, including bid requirements and qualifications.
"The goal with the project is to use as much local participation as we can, whether contractors or subcontractors who can do drywall work, flooring work, anything of that nature. Also, suppliers, anything we can buy locally helps the local economy, so we can in turn use our money in the local community, which helps local citizens get back to work," said Dan Porta, Cartersville assistant city manager.
The projects being discussed are the construction of the new Fire Station No. 4 on MLK Jr. Drive as well as the public safety headquarters on Cassville Road.
Fire Station No. 4 will cover approximately 10,000 square feet on the site of the existing station. The public safety headquarters will encompass about 50,000 square foot at the corner of Cassville Road and Harris Street. The public safety building will be home to Fire Station No. 1 -- now located downtown on Erwin Street, a new police headquarters and an emergency operations center.
"The need is to upgrade our facilities as the voters approved in the 2007 SPLOST to allow us to build these buildings," Porta said. "This building will accommodate for all of our growth needs."
