It should be noted, though, that the Lady Purple Hurricanes — after a winless 2010 — essentially had nowhere to go but up. Still, a 10-win improvement may have been more than anyone could have dreamed of, making the upcoming season a pivotal one for the rebuilding program.
Now, Cartersville, which also lost 10 games a year ago, must figure out how to transition from being a competitive team to one that expects to win each and every time out. Its head coach, for one, doesn’t want to go backward.
