Bartow County Commissioner Clarence Brown held a meeting Wednesday announcing a resolution to enter into an agreement with The Arbitrage Group Inc. The company will perform arbitrage earnings calculations for the 2007 General Obligation Sales Tax Bonds.

"When you do bonds like that, you're not allowed to make but so much money," Brown said. "If you make more interest than you should make, you end up owing the state, and we did not do that. That's what this is all about."

The commissioner also announced that the county entered into an agreement with Townsend Park Health and Rehabilitation, LLC to apply for transfer of funds under the Upper Payment Limit Rate Adjustment Program.

A third resolution declared certain county property surplus, which will be posted for sale. GovDeals Internet Auction Service, which specializes in online auctions of government property, will handle the sale.

The meeting also saw the re-appointment of Sandra Taylor to the Department of Family and Children Services board.

The county commissioner is scheduled to hold another meeting 10 a.m. May 9 at the Frank Moore Administration and Judicial Center.
