Criminal trials begin Monday

When Bartow County Superior Court convenes Monday, criminal jury trials are set to begin in the courtrooms of Judges Scott Smith and Carey Nelson.

District Attorney Rosemary Greene’s office released this week a list of cases expected to sound first.

For Smith’s courtroom, those cases expected to be called include:

• Timothy Michael Van Hoose — three counts of homicide by vehicle in the first degree, six counts of serious injury by vehicle, three counts of driving under the influence, following too closely, improper tires and failure to appear.

• Eddie Lamar Evans — possession of firearm by convicted felon and disorderly conduct.

• David Shane Ward — two counts of theft by taking, entering an automobile, criminal damage to property in the second degree, battery and failure to appear.

• Westley Duane Emmett — possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana more than an ounce, battery under the Family Violence Act and battery.

• Winston Keith Wiggins — two counts of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving under the influence less safe, reckless driving, obstruction of an officer, improper lane change, disregarding traffic control device, speeding, improper driving on divided highway, failure to maintain lane and driving without a license.

• Matthew Grant Wall — two counts of armed robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of false imprisonment and burglary in the first degree.

• Winston Keith Wiggins — expired or no driver’s license and defective windshield.

• Brandon Michael Ensley — two counts of obstruction of an officer, three counts of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving under the influence, DUI less safe, simple battery, driving while license suspended, two counts of giving false information to a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, improper driving on divided highway, improper passing, turn signal violation, improper lane change, speeding, failure to maintain lane, three counts of failure to stop at a stop sign and driving without a license.

• Delisa Marie Vanhook — two counts of duty upon striking a fixed object, failure to report an accident, operating a vehicle while text messaging, failure to exercise due care and failure to maintain lane.

• Brandon Edward Walker — theft by taking.

• Tamara Lynn Kubat — first-degree forgery and felony second-degree forgery.

• Donald Matthew Meadows — felony second-degree forgery.

For Nelson’s courtroom, those cases expected to be called include:

• Cierra Nicole Bryant — obstruction of an officer.

• Stephen Bradley Quick — two counts of aggravated sodomy, four counts of aggravated child molestation, five counts of child molestation, aggravated sexual battery.

• Corey Antoine Bonner — possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

• Dustin Chas Hendrix — two counts of sale of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of meth, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, two counts of possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

• Jamie Brooke Land — possession of meth, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

• Shannon Nicole Spruce — two counts of sale of meth, possession of meth with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of meth, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

• Russell William McDaniel — possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

• Lyle Copeland Meadors — kidnapping, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, theft by taking, possession of firearm by convicted felon.

• Randy Hilton Bordelon — kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft by taking and battery.

• Christa Lowe Brewer — riot in penal institution and two counts of felony willful obstruction of law enforcement officers by use of threats or violence.

• Anita Dianne Matsko — two counts of obstruction of an officer, DUI and simple battery.

• Robert Henry Buttrum Jr. — escape.

• Theodore Nathan Belkey — two counts of second-degree criminal damage to property, criminal trespass, simple battery (FVA) and obstruction of an officer.

Court convenes at 9 a.m. for both courtrooms.
