On Thursday, agents with the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Gordon County Sheriff’s Office and parole officers from the State Board of Pardons and Parole arrested four individuals for various drug charges.

According to DTF Commander Capt. Mark Mayton, the task force began this investigation approximately three months ago after allegations of illegal activity at Golden Eight Ball, 5698 Highway 20, Cartersville.

Agents believed this commercial gambling business was a front for an illegal drug distribution operation.

During the execution of a search warrant, agents seized a large sum of cash along with a trafficking amount of methamphetamine. Agents all located several doses of lysergic acid diethylamide — LSD or acid — and prescription drugs diverted for illegal use.

Four people were arrested.
