Area dive teams and a private contractor recovered Thursday the body of an Oct. 15 drowning victim, according to Bruce King, acting battalion chief for Bartow County Fire Department.

Tommy Moore, 68, of Indiana went into Lake Allatoona at Red Top Mountain's Park Marina when the boat moved away from the dock. Moore, who was wheelchair-bound, suffered from respiratory issues. The body was recovered under the dock where the accident occurred.

The area where Moore went under is 76 feet deep and moves to a depth of 106 feet deep at the wave-break roughly 30 yards away.

Rescue crews dragged the area and used technical equipment to aid in the search. The depth of the water and cables dissecting the marina hindered recovery efforts.
