Born in Waleska, June 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Leon Blalock and the late Hester Lee Pope Blalock. Preceding her in death are her parents and one brother, L.J. Blalock.
Mrs. Hartsfield worked for Stratton Industries which later became Shaw Industries for 25 years before retiring. A strong-willed and giving woman, she always went above and beyond the call of duty to provide for her family. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, cooking, reading, flower arranging and watching the Gaithers on TV.
Survivors include her husband, William David Hartsfield of Cartersville; her children, Linda McGinnis and husband Lamar of Dalton, Sandra Miller and husband Jimmy of Calhoun, Faye Hornback and husband Marshall of Brownsville, Ky., Doug Hartsfield and wife Vickie of Cartersville, and Roger Hartsfield of Cartersville; her sister, Barbara Jean Brown of Dalton; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 14, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Fred Lee and Parnick Jennings Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Shinall Cemetery.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and will include: Everett Fairless, Jesse Hartsfield, David McGinnis, Andy Hornback, Derek Williams, Jason Hayes, Jeffrey Fields and Billy Hall.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
