For the new park, an asphalt contract and invoices were approved.
Mayor Kathy Foulk requested approval for University of West Georgia students to use the history museum for a project in one of their classes and a zoning ordinance to update the placement of drop-off boxes for donation collection was passed.
The city also has received a grant from the Department of Natural Resources for $100,000. City Manager Trish Sullivan said that the grant will be used for restrooms at trail heads.
The council will hold a special called meeting tonight at 5 p.m. for an executive session to discuss personnel.
