Evelyn was born Dec. 14, 1946, in Cartersville to Luther and Katherine Henderson Bryant. She was a graduate of Summer Hill High School and continued her education at Fort Valley State University.
In order to serve her country she enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1967 and served honorably until discharged.
Evelyn was an active member of the St. Luke AME Church where she served faithfully in many ministries. Throughout her life, she left an unforgettable impression on everyone she touched.
Evelyn was a certified barber and beautician. She also worked as a Para Professional in the Cartersville City Schools, primarily at Cartersville Elementary.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her son, Gregory L. Byrant; daughter Vanessa Chambliss; grandsons, Brylant L. Chambliss, Lance L. Bryant, Luther B. Chambliss and Luke T. Bryant; two sisters, Katherine B. Boyce, and Carol B. Gamble, brother, Willie L. Bryant, special friend Joe Odom, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
