Fire destroys childhood home in Adairsville

Bartow County fire units from three stations battle a blaze at 107 Chestnut St. in Adairsville Sunday afternoon. The fire destroyed the home.

Three Bartow County fire stations responded to a residential fire in Adairsville Sunday at 12:15 p.m. Upon arrival, the house at 107 Chestnut St. was engulfed in flames and now stands as an uninhabitable structure, according to fire officials.

The home was owned by sisters Glenda Duval and Debbie Cagle. It was their childhood home and was built in 1920. Cagle's daughter lived in the home on occasion.

Cause of the fire is unknown at this time. No injuries were reported and all firefighters were back in service by 5:30 p.m.
