The Padres’ Emmanuel Jones and Brant Smith and the Phillies’ Khase Willis had a pitchers’ duel for five innings, but the Padres cracked through in the sixth.
Frye had four hits for the Padres, which included a double and a triple, and Garrett Geros and Knowles each had two hits. Frye also had two runs and an RBI while Geros had a double and an RBI and Knowles two runs and an RBI.
Other hitters for the Padres were Smith (double, walk), Feanny (one run) and Walker Jones. Dadrian Dennis (walk, run) and Jones (walk) also reached base for the team.
Jones pitched four innings for the Padres, throwing 75 pitches and striking out six batters, and Smith went three innings with three strikeouts and 50 pitches.
For the Phillies, Willis threw five innings, totaling 85 pitches and 10 strikeouts. Nick Root pitched one inning, striking out one and registering 23 pitches.
Offensively, Jordon Wells had two hits and one run for the Phillies; William Fraser added a triple and two walks; Josh Holmes produced a hit and was hit by a pitch; Willis walked twice; Derrick Pearson walked once and scored a run; and Bailey Ward, Root and Reece Thompson each drew one walk.

Tigers 15, Dodgers 5
John Reed Evans and Grant Harris each had three hits for the Tigers, and Brady Evans added two hits in their team’s 15-5 win. The game ended on RBI singles by Tyler Gamble and Brady Craig. The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Hitters for the Tigers were Evans, double, triple, two runs; Harris, double, three runs, RBI; Evans, RBI; Brandon Hodge, one hit, two walks, four runs, RBI; Koby Jordan, one hit, three walks, run; Micah Tart, one hit, walk, two runs; Craig, run, RBI; and Gamble, RBI. Additionally, Jake Cooper had an RBI for the Tigers, and Dominique Williams walked twice and scored twice.
Harris pitched three innings with 63 pitches and five strikeouts; Evans pitched one inning with 52 pitches and one strikeout; and Jordan pitched one inning, recording five pitches.
Dodgers’ pitchers were Trey Harkins (two innings, 60 pitches, one strikeout) and Trevor Lawrence (four innings, 80 pitches, four strikeouts).
Leading the way on offense were Dodgers’ hitters Matthew Greene (two hits, double, run, three RBIs); Harkins (one hit, run); Juan Guerrero (one hit, RBI); Clay Ross (one hit); Jonathan Guerrero (one hit); and Logan Gates (one hit). Max Rohland (two walks, run), Lawrence (two runs), Cole Crump (walk) and Tyler Dover (walk) also reached base for the Dodgers.
Last Monday’s Games
Braves 5, Indians 5
The Braves and Indians were deadlocked at 5 when their game was suspended after five innings due to the special time limit for games on nights before Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests in the local school systems. The game will be completed at a later date.
Before the game was halted, J.P. Martin hit a home run in the top of the first for a 2-0 Braves’ lead, and Garrett Hite and Ian Inaba each hit a triple in the bottom of the third to tie the game, 3-3.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Indians took the lead 4-3 on an inside-the-park home run by Inaba.
Hits by Byers Murray and Crawford Taylor gave the Braves a 5-4 lead in the top of the fifth, but the Indians knotted things up once again in the bottom half of the inning on hits by Hite and Dax Edwards.
Taylor’s three hits, which included a double and two RBIs, led the way for the Braves. Also contributing offensively were Murray, two hits, two walks, two runs; Jackson Lovette, two hits; Martin, home run, walk, RBI; Austin Baker, walk, RBI; and Garrett Cornett, walk.
The Indians’ Hite matched a game-high with three hits, including a triple, two runs and an RBI. Inaba also had three hits with a triple, inside-the-park-home run, three runs and an RBI. Other Indians’ hitters were Dalton Southern, Malcolm Cooley and Edwards, who had one hit apiece. Southern added a walk as well.
Indians to take the mound included Hite (two innings, 32 pitches, two strikeouts), Inaba (three innings, 34 pitches, three strikeouts) and Dylan Webb (three innings, 69 pitches, two strikeouts).
Martin (three innings, 74 pitches, nine strikeouts) and Murray (three innings, 46 pitches, one strikeout) pitched for the Braves.
Crackers 7, Colts 4
Levi Pickel, Chris Davis and Benjamin Ammons combined to throw a three-hitter for the Crackers in their 7-4 win. Joshua Mayo, Will Bentley, Jacob Daniel and Will Noble each had two hits, including a home run by Mayo and a triple by Bentley.
Other hitters for the Crackers were J.T. Mitchell (run, RBI), Aiden Shea (run, RBI) and Davis. Ammons reached base with a walk.
Pickel pitched four innings with four strikeouts in 75 pitches; Davis went two innings with three strikeouts in 50 pitches; and Ammons threw one inning with two strikeouts in nine pitches.
Jake Richards pitched four innings for the Colts, with three strikeouts and 77 pitches, and Chris Mills threw 11 pitches in one inning.
Colts’ hitters were Mills, two hits, and Clay Derrick. Other base runners were Connor Wall, two walks, two runs; Tyler Friedrich, two walks, run; Jonah Gambill, two walks, run; Richards, walk; and Zach Hall, walk.
