Mr. Fred Henry Lewis, 52, of 105 3rd St., Adairsville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at his residence.

He was born in Floyd County, March 26, 1958, son of the late Paul and Jessie Sellars Lewis. He had attended Gray's Chapel AME Church. He was a graduate of Adairsville High School and had attended Clark College in Atlanta. Mr. Lewis had been employed with Galey & Lord and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Lelia Lewis.

Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Connie Barrett of Cartersville, and James and Glenda McConnell of Calhoun; cousins, Jerry Lewis, Patricia Lewis, Sheila Lewis, and Margaret Queen; several nieces and nephews also survive. Also, a special thanks is extended to Gray's Chapel AME Church.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. at Gray's Chapel AME Church, Adairsville with Rev. Billy Harris officiating. Interment followed in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Adairsville. The body lay in state at the church from noon until the funeral hour on Saturday.

Pallbearers included Johnny Davis, Chris Harris, Bobby Joe Owens, Wayne Richard, Brandon Trimble and Antonio McConnell. Flower girls were Veronica Billings, Tammy Branch, Denise Christian, Laverne Harris, Dorothy Wilkey, Margaret Winston and Cynthia Slocum.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, was in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Fred Lewis.
